Esports Visit Day

Every semester, Northwest Esports invited high schools to participate in a highly curated event. The purpose is to educate schools about esports, foster friendly competition between them, and build a pipeline of future recruits to the university.

‍ ‍

  • Cross Department Collaboration with Admissions

  • Hundreds of Esports Interest Forms Signed for Recruitment.

  • Creation of 250+ Recruitment Pipeline for Middle Schools & High Schools.

Competitive

Northwest Esports saw huge growth through structure provided through my background in Sports Performance & Psychology. Not only were we a leader among our peer institutions, we rivaled the esports programs of much larger schools.

‍ ‍

  • 100% rank and performance increase across the board.

  • 3 championships from the National Association of Collegiate Esports.

  • Peer institution champion in the Midwest Collegiate Esports Conference.

  • Structured Practices & Scheduling, Warm-Up Routines, Stretching, Wellness, Intervention Techniques, and Mindset Shifting.

Gaming Club

Gaming Clubs at Higher Education institutions often are the most highly participated structures within a collegiate esports program. Successful esports programs should provide multiple avenues for students to access, providing a sense of community, regardless of skill level.

‍ ‍

  • Weekly Intramurals & Events.

  • 150+ Student Club Enrollment & Discord Community of 400+ Students.

  • One of the Highest Participated Clubs on Campus.

Support & Alignment

"Selling" the program and the ideas behind it was some of the most important work I've done. Not only did I need to be an expert in esports, but I also needed to become an expert in higher education. Understanding how both frameworks work together, tending to the needs of the program and the school, and aligning those values is tedious work.

‍ ‍

  • Persuaded the highest leadership of Northwest, NLT, to sit down and talk about strategic planning around esports.

  • Delivered highly positive strategic pitches to Advancement and the Alumni Association. Wealthy investors were ready to cut $50,000 checks after the meeting.

  • Mentored under the Vice President of Student Affairs.

  • Garnered support from Admissions, Student Affairs, Campus Recreation, Residential Life, the Office of the President, the Northwest Leadership Team (NLT), and Advancement.

Professional Development

I've always been an advocate for going beyond my role and responsibilities. Part of that is participating in groups that will develop me into a better leader.
